About The Role

JOB PURPOSE

The postholder plays a crucial role in developing visually compelling graphics that enhance our brand's presence both nationally and internationally. This role involves working closely with various departments, external media, and national and international marketing partners to deliver engaging and innovative design solutions.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and Creation:

  • Develop high-quality graphics for digital and print media, including social media posts, website content, marketing campaigns, and promotional materials.
  • Create visually appealing designs that align with the Club’s brand guidelines and enhance our national and international image.
  • Produce layouts/graphics for matchday programmes, newsletters, and other club publications.

Collaboration:

  • Understand design needs and project objectives through interaction with various departments.
  • Liaise with external media and marketing partners to ensure consistency and excellence in all graphic design outputs.
  • Work with the commercial team to create eye-catching designs for sponsorship and partnership proposals.

Brand Management:

  • Maintain and uphold the Club’s visual identity across all platforms and media.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to the Club's branding and style guidelines.
  • Continuously update and evolve the visual style of the Club in line with current design trends and Club objectives.

Innovation and Creativity:

  • Stay updated with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies.
  • Bring fresh and innovative ideas to the table to keep the Club’s content engaging and relevant.
  • Develop unique concepts for special projects, events, and campaigns.

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery without compromising quality.
  • Coordinate with printers, external agencies, and other vendors to ensure the accurate production of printed materials.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on project progress to the Head of Department.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

  • Key Club strategic partners including owner/stakeholder organisations.

    SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • We are committed to ensuring everyone who engages with the Club has a positive, safe, and supportive experience. Staff are required to comply with all aspects of the Club Safeguarding Policies and arrangements and to take personal responsibility and care to enable strong safeguarding practices to be embedded across the Club.

     

    HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take responsibility and care for the health and safety of yourself and other employees and members of the public who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.
  • Comply with all aspects of the Club’s Health & Safety Policy and arrangements to enable the company to perform its civil and statutory obligations in relation to Health & Safety.
About The Candidate

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • A Degree in a relevant area (Graphic Design, Visual Arts etc.) or a number of years’ experience normally associated with this level of qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience (at least 3 years) in professional graphic design - ideally within sports or entertainment industry.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects).
  • The ability to speak other language(s) would be an advantage.

    PERSONAL SPECIFICATION - SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of creative and innovative design work.
  • Excellent understanding of branding, layout, colour theory, and typography.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work effectively under pressure.
  • A keen interest in football and an understanding of the football industry.
