About The Role

JOB PURPOSE

In collaboration with the Club’s strategic partners (including owner/stakeholder organisations and key internal departments) the Head of Digital and Content is responsible for shaping and enhancing the Club’s brand identity  by delivering engaging content and ensuring a consistent brand presence across all platforms globally.

The postholder oversees all aspects all aspects of the Club’s content creation and brand management, from strategic planning to execution. As a senior leader, the Head of Digital and Content is instrumental in developing and implementing strategies to enhance the Club’s presence across all digital platforms to engage with fans worldwide and drive innovative content initiatives that will grow the Club’s fan base, both domestically and internationally.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Brand Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive brand strategies to enhance the Club’s brand identity and ensure consistency across all platforms.
  • Content Creation: Oversee the creation of high-quality, engaging content for various platforms, including social media, website, mobile app, and traditional media.
  • Campaign Management: Lead the development and execution of marketing campaigns that align with the Club’s brand values and strategic objectives.
  • Fan Engagement: Develop and implement initiatives to engage with the Club’s international fan base, enhancing their connection to the Club.
  • Brand Guidelines: Establish and maintain brand guidelines to ensure consistency in all branding and marketing efforts.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with internal teams and external partners/stakeholders to deliver cohesive and impactful content and branding initiatives.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for growth in content and brand strategy.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets for content and branding activities, ensuring cost control and efficient resource allocation.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the content and brand team, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including sponsors, partners, and media outlets.
  • Compliance: Ensure all content and branding activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and organisational policies.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyse the performance of content and branding initiatives, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.

About The Candidate

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • A Degree in a relevant area (Marketing, Communications, Journalism etc.) or a number of years’ experience normally associated with this level of qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience (7-10 years) in content creation, brand management or marketing - ideally within sports or entertainment industry.
  • Extensive experience working in international markets and an understanding of global sport business dynamics.
  • The ability to speak other language(s) would be an advantage.

  • Strong understanding of brand management principles and practices, with the ability to apply them in a sports context.
  • Expertise in creating compelling content across various platforms, including social media, digital, and traditional media.
  • Ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans to enhance the Club’s brand and content offerings.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a creative team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong creative vision and the ability to translate brand values into engaging content and campaigns.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic recommendations.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong financial management skills, with the ability to develop and manage budgets effectively.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work effectively under pressure.
  • A keen interest in football and an understanding of the football industry.
