About The Role

JOB PURPOSE

To take an active role to ensure, as far as reasonably practicable, the provision of the reasonable care, safety, security and customer service to everyone attending Wrexham AFC matches at STōK Cae Ras, in accordance with the General Safety Certificate terms and conditions and the Club Spectator Safety Policy.  This includes the safety and security of match day officials and players and those attending on a match day.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Will report directly to the Stadium, Safety and Security Manager (or their designate) in charge of the area to which the Safety Steward is allocated for duty.
  • Will observe the highest standards of Health & Safety and not do anything to prejudice the health and safety of himself/herself or any Club employee or visitor.
  • Will attend the Stadium at given dates and times as directed by the Match Day Operations Manager.
  • Maintain a smart in appearance and abide by the Club’s dress code, wear the issue personal protective clothing and be in possession of the Club Steward Aide Memoire.
  • Will attend pre- and post-match briefing/debriefing sessions and ensure all information is understood.
  • Will be responsible for the safety, security, comfort, and service to spectators within their designated area of duty and in so doing enforce, when necessary, Stadium Regulations.
  • To offer an excellent customer service experience to supporters attending events at the stadium.
  • Assist in relevant area searches to identify any Stadium defect or anything likely to cause injury or harm to spectators and advise their Steward Supervisor of the result.
  • Any other duties as requested.

  • This post is subject to a Standard (Enhanced if the Steward is a Supervisor or working in the Family Section) DBS check.

  • Take responsibility and care for the health and safety of yourself and other employees and members of the public who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.
  • To comply with all aspects of the Club’s Health & Safety Policy and arrangements, to enable the company to perform its civil and statutory obligations in relation to Health & Safety.

About The Candidate

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Level 2 NVQ in Spectator Safety (or willing to complete this in your first season).

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION – SKILLS / ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Good interpersonal and social skills - willing to learn and interact positively with colleagues and supporters.
  • The ability to work using your own initiative and as a member of a team.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and be resilient.
  • Reliable and understands and practices confidentiality.
