About The Role

Job Title:                     Lead Professional Development Phase Coach (U17-U18)

Reporting to:              Academy Manager / Head of Coach Development 

  Responsible for:         Academy Interns – Analysis / Performance / Coaching

Contract:                     Full Time

Hours of work:            37.5 hours per week

Location:                     Meadow Lane Stadium and Academy Training Centre

As Lead Professional Development Phase Coach (PDP) at Notts County FC Academy, you will work within an innovative Academy at a League Two Football Club, to deliver the Academy’s Player Development Strategyand assist in shaping the development of players in the PDP. Your main responsibility will be to Lead the Under 18’s in the EFL Youth Alliance.

Key responsibilities

1. Be responsible for the running and implementation of the Academy’s Player Development Strategy within the Under 17 to Under 18 age groups.

2. Be a lead figure and mentor for the Part-Time Academy Coaches by supporting them with all aspects of coaching and supporting them to develop under the guidance of the Head of Coach Development and Lead Phase Coaches.

3. There will be key administrative tasks involved within the role, meeting all required criteria of the EPPP.

4. To manage and update the FIP system and ensure all players’ reviews and session and game evaluations are completed.

5. Be responsible for conducting player reviews to aid feedback, helping players develop further, whilst ensuring players have ongoing and up to date ILPs.

6. To be a key liaison for all Academy families of PDP players, supporting the Player Care Officer and Head of Education and Welfare in our holistic approach to player development.

7. To support the Head of Education in all initiatives in relation to the Apprenticeship programme and Nottingham College Partnership.

8. To ensure that there is a Multi-Disciplinary approach to the planning within the PDP.

9. To take an active role in the safeguarding of all Academy players.

About The Candidate

Knowledge and Experience

1. Has achieved FA Advanced Youth Award (or working towards).

2. Has achieved UEFA A Licence (or working towards).

3. Has experience working in at least a Category 3 Academy at Under 17 to Under 21 age groups.

4. Full, Clean UK Driving Licence.

5. Experience using the FIP system.

6. Experience working under and a knowledge of EPPP guidelines.

2. Flexible approach to work and working hours.

3. Committed to shaping the development of Academy players in the Under 17 to Under 21 age groups.

4. Committed to the safeguarding of Academy players.

5. Excellent communication skills and can work well with other people.

6. Works well under pressure and has flexibility to deal with issues outside working hours and at short notice.

7. Can relate to and represent our Academy Core Values.

8. Valid FA DBS or willing to undertake a DBS check before starting the role.

9. Access to a vehicle and a full UK driving licence.
