About The Role

Lead the Youth Development Phase Coaching and the wider multi-disciplinary team in all aspects of the long term, holistic development of Elite young players within the Leyton Orient Football Club Academy.
 
On The Grass
  • Lead the YDP player development programme and deliver the coaching syllabus ensuring there is a flexible approach to meet the needs of the player.
  • Monitor and report on individual player development through the player journey utilising KitMan Labs (KML.)
  • Involvement in working with physical development department to work with individual players in the Youth Development Phase.
  • Undertake all Coaching aspects as detailed within the ILP of the players
  • Work closely with the Assistant YDP Coaches to ensure there is a smooth transition for players moving from U13’s into YDP and U16s into the Professional Development Phase. 
  • Monitor the transition of players from the Youth Development Phase into the Professional Development Phase and players into potential First Team players.
  • To integrate with all Academy department, staff to deliver a holistic development programme for all players.
  • Undertake enhancement of specific personal Qualifications and all CPD provided by the Club and regulatory bodies.

Key Tasks leading to an evolving coaching process at Leyton Orient Coach:
 
  • Competency Framework (CCF):  Take part in our Coach Competency Framework (CCF) to monitor and evaluate your coaching to develop a DAP.
  • Development Programmes/CPD events Take part in Design and delivery of your development interventions based on the Academy coaching philosophy.
  • Coaching Curriculum, Playing and Coaching Philosophy:  Ensure the Academy’s Coaching Curriculum is consistently delivered in line with the Academy’s (and/or Club’s) Playing Philosophy and Coaching Philosophy: Undertake two non-football C.P.D visits per year and develop a report on finding Take part in and contribute to syllabus reviews.
