About The Role

An opportunity has arisen to join our physical performance department and contribute to the development of our first team players. Based on our exceptional Bearwood training ground, we are seeking an experienced, committed and enthusiastic practitioner with innovative skills and knowledge to make a significant impact on how we physically prepare our players and to help cultivate an elite performance environment within the club. Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Alongside the HOPP, plan and deliver “EFL Leading”, individualized strength and conditioning programmes to the first team squad.
  • Be responsible for the implementation of periodized testing, reporting and monitoring of all first-team players.
  • Be responsible for the delivery of periodized pre-training preparation sessions that support the individual development of players whilst being aligned to the aims of the pitch-based training programme.
  • Work in collaboration with medical staff to ensure that player programmes are aligned to support any ongoing and historical pathology management.
  • Support the on-pitch delivery of training warm-ups, conditioning sessions.
  • Delivery of match-day support, including player preparation, nutritional supplementation and fueling, GPS preparation and pre-match warmups and any additional S&C needs.
  • Work alongside the HOPP and first team coaches to implement IDP frameworks that align physical, technical and tactical objectives.
  • Support the development of the department by sharing previous learning experiences with other practitioners and individuals.

About The Candidate

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • BSc in Strength and Conditioning, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a team sport environment (not specifically football).
  • Experience of leading a Strength & Conditioning programme or elements within a programme.
  • Demonstratable experience of using assessment tools and software such as VALD, Kanga Tech, Statsports.
  • Demonstratable experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support player development and performance.

Desirable:

  • MSc in Strength & Conditioning.
  • UKSCA Accreditation or equivalent.
  • Experience of working at first team/senior level within team sport.
  • Experience of using software analysis tools such as Power Bi or Tableau.
