About The Role

Reports to: CEO; Head of Methodology; First Team Assistant Head Coach

Location: Based primarily at the Club's Training Ground, Heston

Hours: Full time. Due to the nature of the post, regular evening and weekend work will be necessary.

Job Purpose
To manage, lead and co-ordinate the logistical operation of professional players' Individual Development Plans. To lead First Team player development coaching, ensuring high performance through the planning, delivery and review process of all sessions and individual development plans. To work closely with coaching and support staff, building strong professional relationships and creating a positive and collaborative environment.

Role Accountabilities and Key Duties

Coaching

  1. Lead and/or support delivery of First Team training sessions.
  2. Lead and/or support delivery of U21 and U18 training sessions.
  3. Assist the First Team Assistant Head Coach in the organisation, planning and review of short, medium and long-term player development plans.
  4. Work collaboratively with Methodology, Performance, Recruitment, and Analysis staff to ensure clear understanding of the player development required to implement the game model.
  5. Manage, produce and deliver individual development plans for the First Team squad in line with the Club's position-specific game model demands.
  6. Drive player technical development across group sessions, individual coaching, and video analysis.
  7. Ensure the coaching team are coordinated and consistent in their approach to player development.

Pathway Management

  1. Work closely with the Academy Director and Head of Methodology to design individual pathway plans for players within the PDP.
  2. Manage and lead the multi-disciplinary operation of individual development plans, ensuring a player-centred approach to the review process.
  3. Regularly attend U18 and U21 games, focusing on the performance and development of high-potential players.
  4. Regularly attend games involving first team or high-potential players on loan and provide detailed feedback to the players.
  5. Oversee the Individual Development Plans for all first team and high-potential U19-21 players on loan.

Leadership

  1. Alongside the Assistant Head Coach, lead on the 12-week reviews of all first team players.
  2. Promote a culture of innovation across the Coaching Department, ensuring regular research is conducted into new ways of working.
  3. Lead on the objective measuring of improvement in each first team player's IDP, both in training and in games.
  4. Undertake personal CPD as appropriate to meet the demands of the role.
  5. Deliver all other duties that may arise from time to time and fall within the scope of this position.

  1. Ensure that any safeguarding or welfare concerns are reported efficiently.
  2. Comply with all company policies and procedures, and adhere to all company regulations regarding health, safety, and security.

Qualifications

  • UEFA A Licence (essential)
  • UEFA Pro Licence (desirable)
  • Advanced DBS check (essential)
  • Current FA Safeguarding Certificate (essential)
  • FA EFAiF Certificate (essential)
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential)

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience of designing and implementing a coaching plan with individuals across a First Team squad.
  • Experience of supporting coaches in an elite environment.
  • Passionate about long-term player development.
  • A track record of supporting players to make positive progressions in First Team environments.
  • Experience of utilising technical and performance data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Strong IT and presentation skills, including experience of working effectively with software packages (e.g. Hudl, Angles, StatsBomb).
  • Ability to liaise empathetically and effectively with young players, parents, and other key stakeholders.
