Education Manager - Reading Football Club in Reading

About The Role

We are looking for someone to join the busy Education Department of our Category 1 Academy.

The successful candidate will be QTS or QTLS, and you will be responsible for overseeing the completion of all Academy players educational requirements and deliver on the apprenticeship, BTEC U18 programme and liaise with A level provision

Key Accountabilities

To work with the teaching staff to produce all schemes of work and lesson plans for any academic programme you are associated with.
To complete all marking required within the 10-working day requirement as set by the awarding body
To attend and be active within the daily MDT professional development phase meetings
To support the Head of Club Education with the LFE programme review meetings
To represent the education department at the weekly MDT meetings for the PDP
To support and deliver on the clubs BTEC and SEP Apprenticeship programme taking the lead for the BTEC and supporting staff for the SEP
To liaise with all club Heads of departments regarding the educational needs of the PDP players, this will also include when players are required to miss training and game due to completion of work
To contribute to the end of year academic review at Reading Football Club, Premier League and the League Football Education.
To take an active role in the clubs Ofsted inspection supporting the Head of Club Education when required
To maintain high standard of academic records for all players aged 18-23.
To maintain and check all teaching equipment and resources available at all Academy Education sessions.
To support the Head of Club Education with the academic review of all academy players aged 8-23
To contribute to the development of resources and educational aids.
To educate staff to support best practice including watching training sessions, games and provision of in-service training and appropriate CPD.
To identify any required educational supplies at Reading Football Club Training Ground or any other satellite training centres
To attend all academic meetings with the Premier League (PL) and the League

About The Candidate

Qualifications / Experience required

Essential

QTS or QTLS qualified
Understanding of BTEC programme delivery
Understanding of Apprenticeships
Willingness to undertake Continued Professional Development organised by Reading Football Club.
Completion of Safeguarding Training.
Completion of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion training.

Desirable

Assessor/ quality assurance qualifications
