About The Role

Here at West Bromwich Albion Football Club we have an exciting vacancy to join our Academy as Academy Player Care Manager. 
 
The Academy Player Care Manager will be required to develop and coordinate the player care programme, ensuring players and parents are given high levels of support. Providing a holistic approach to personal development that supports players from 16 through to U21 to achieve their highest potential on and off the pitch.
To be the first point of contact for any welfare issues and provide support and ongoing assistance across the academy.
 
This role is full time which includes evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required and in line with business needs.

About The Candidate

Person Specification 
Essential Criteria 
  • Experience in youth development, education, welfare, or psychology (ideally within elite sport or education settings).
  • Experience of engagement, participation and co-production work with children, young people, and parents.
  • Demonstrable/visible commitment to player support, health and wellbeing.
  • Good IT skills and the ability to interpret data and prepare reports.
  • Ability to use, continuing professional development (CPD), and personal development positively and effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to develop good relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise workload as well as support others.
  • Highly organised and methodical approach to workload
  • Confidential and diplomatic
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
  •  Right to Work in the UK
Desirable Criteria 
  • FA Safeguarding.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Experience of working in a busy, pressurised environment.
  • Experience of working at a Football Academy.
  • Demonstrates a complex understanding of self in the context of others (e.g. biases and countertransference).
  •  Maintains a high degree of professionalism by demonstrating emotional regulation and reflecting on others emotional states in emotive settings/under pressure.
