About The Role

We are looking to recruit a casual coach at Youth Development Phase (12-16) to work within our Youth Academy, holding the responsibility for the coaching and development of our players in a particular age group to be confirmed.

Duties and responsibilities:

  •  To coach an age group squad for 3/4 sessions per week
  • To joint-manage the team for all matches
  • To plan and evaluate all training sessions using Kitman Labs technology (FIP)
  • To evaluate player and team match performances on FIP.
  • To produce detailed player cycle evaluation reports regularly throughout the season and to attend player meetings to discuss these performance reviews.
  • To attend all appropriate meetings and Continued Professional Development (CPD) courses organised by the Youth Academy
  • To keep all relevant qualifications up-to-date
  • Coach players in organised sessions in line with the CAFC Academy coaching philosophy
  • manage fixtures and provide written and verbal feedback to all players. 
  • Document all coaching and games activity in line with the requirements of the Premier League. 
  • Attend all relevant meetings and in service training events.

About The Candidate

Skills required:

  •  Background in football as a player or coach at a good level with the ability to demonstrate the relevant techniques of the game (E)
  • Experience of coaching elite / high level players of school age (D)
  • The organisational skills and commitment to produce and keep up to date the required administrative tasks as detailed above (E)
  • Enthusiasm, passion, positivity, reliability and the ability to be reflective and positive to feed-back (E)
  • Significant experience as a coach (minimum 5 years) (E)
  • An understanding of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) environment and the importance of the Four Corners of youth development and the Long-Term Player Development model (D)
  • The ability to work as part of a team (E)

Knowledge required: 

  •  High level of game understanding
  • understanding of youth development processes and coaching models.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (E)
  • Excellent ability to coach with creativity and clarity, the fundamentals of the game within a structured framework (E)
  • Ability to work with all levels of management and be able to work as part of a team as well as to take own initiative (E)
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines in a pressurised environment (E)
  • Reliable and highly motivated towards the role and trustworthy with sensitive data (E)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with members of the wider multi-disciplinary team (E)
  • A high-level of care towards young people with an acute awareness of the responsibility for creating a respectful and safe, but challenging environment for all.

Qualifications required:

  • UEFA B Licence (E)
  • Advance Youth Award (D)
  • FA Youth Module Awards 1, 2 and 3 (E/working towards qualification)
  • Child Protection Certificate (E)
  • Emergency First Aid in Football (E/working towards qualification)
