About The Role

The Academy Operations Lead is responsible for the effective planning, coordination, and administration of all operational activities within the academy programme. Working closely with academy management, coaching, education, medical, and player care departments, the postholder will ensure the academy operates efficiently and remains fully compliant with the requirements of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP), league regulations, and safeguarding standards.

The role will lead the delivery of academy logistics, scheduling, governance, and stakeholder communication, supporting the development of players across all age groups while creating a professional, high-performance environment. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, manage key administrative processes, oversee matchday and training operations, and contribute to the strategic growth and success of the academy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operational management of the academy programme.
  • Ensure compliance with EPPP standards, league regulations, safeguarding requirements, and club policies.
  • Coordinate academy training schedules, fixtures, tours, events, and player development activities.
  • Manage academy administration systems, records, registrations, and reporting processes.
  • Support academy audits and performance reviews.
  • Oversee matchday operations and logistics for academy teams.
  • Manage relationships with parents, schools, governing bodies, and external stakeholders. 
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary staff to deliver an outstanding player experience.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives across the academy.

About The Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational and leadership skills, experience within elite youth sport or football operations, and a detailed understanding of EPPP requirements. They will be highly motivated, capable of managing multiple priorities, and committed to creating a positive environment that supports player development and welfare.
