As we continue striving towards achieving greater success, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a First Team Recruitment Analyst to join our team. This role will play a key part in identifying, evaluating and monitoring player targets, providing detailed data-led and video analysis to support recruitment decisions and help strengthen the club's first-team squad.

About The Candidate

Role Purpose
The First Team Recruitment Analyst will play a key role in supporting the club's recruitment strategy by identifying, assessing and monitoring potential player targets.  Working within the Recruitment department, the successful candidate will combine video analysis, performance data and market research to provide actionable insights that inform recruitment decisions and help build a competitive first-team squad.
 
Main areas of responsibility
  • Assist in the identification, tracking and evaluation of players across both established and emerging talent markets.
  • Conduct comprehensive video scouting and analysis of targeted players across designated leagues and competitions.
  • Produce detailed video reports to support recruitment recommendations and decision-making processes.
  • Maintain and regularly update recruitment shortlists to ensure effective player monitoring and succession planning.
  • Undertake background checks and due diligence on prospective targets to provide a complete assessment of player suitability.
  • Prepare comprehensive player dossiers, reports, and presentations for senior stakeholders and recruitment meetings.
  • Create high-quality player highlight and analysis videos using industry-leading video analysis and annotation software.
  • Gather and analyse market intelligence to inform recruitment strategy and identify emerging opportunities.
  • Work closely with data analysts to develop and refine scouting metrics, analytical tools, and recruitment methodologies.
  • Foster strong communication and collaboration across the recruitment department to drive innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements
 
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate in Sports Science, Performance Analysis, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development within football, recruitment, analysis or data.
  • Demonstrable commitment to developing football recruitment and analysis knowledge.
 Experience
  • Experience analysing football matches, teams or players through video, data or written reports.
  • Producing clear, concise and actionable player assessment reports.
  • Evidence of football analysis work through employment, education, personal projects, blogs, social media content, newsletters, podcasts or independent scouting reports.
  • Experience gathering, organising and presenting information to support decision-making.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualities
  • Strong understanding of football tactics, playing styles, positional profiles and recruitment principles.
  • Ability to identify player strengths, weaknesses and suitability against a defined playing philosophy.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking.
Desirable Requirements
 
Qualifications
  • Masters in Sports Science, Performance Analysis, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • FA Talent Identification Level 1 & 2 or equivalent scouting qualifications.
  • Qualifications relating to coaching, performance analysis or data visualisation.
 Experience
  • Experience working within a professional football club, academy or recruitment department.
  • Experience using recruitment and analysis platforms such as Wyscout, StatsBomb, Hudl, SkillCorner, Sportscode or similar.
  • Experience supporting player recruitment, talent identification or squad planning processes.
  • Experience building player databases and recruitment tracking systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualities
  • Undertaking of modern recruitment methodologies including predictive analytics and market modelling.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends and innovations within football recruitment and performance analysis.
