Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Academy's physiotherapy and medical provision.
- Assess, diagnose and manage injuries sustained during training and matches.
- Design and deliver individual rehabilitation programmes.
- Oversee return-to-play and return-to-training protocols.
- Provide pitch-side medical cover for training sessions and fixtures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in line with EPPP and club requirements.
- Liaise effectively with coaches, players, parents/guardians and external healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to injury prevention strategies and player education.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and club policies.
- Manage and support Academy medical staff where appropriate.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a recognised degree in Physiotherapy.
- Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Hold a valid FA Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football (ITMMiF) qualification.
- Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to vehicle
- Be eligible to work in the UK.
- Be willing to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience within a Professional Football Academy.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP).
- Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
